We are on a mission to explore as much of our world as possible!
As we slowly make our way around, we’ll document our journey so that others can learn from, and be inspired by our experiences.
Where have we been?
We started our ‘Round our World’ trip on 11th July 2019. We had travelled a little before then, and maybe those trips will find their way onto our website in time but, for now, we’re focusing on documenting this current trip.
Our world trip started in South America.
We planned to spend around three months here. We mostly stuck to the plan, except the budget…
From here, we hopped over to Chile (an epic bus journey) and visited the Atacama Desert before joining a tour of the salt flats of Uyuni, Bolivia.
After a couple of interesting/stressful weeks in Bolivia, we headed into Peru to take on the Inca Trail and to see the almighty Machu Picchu.
We had to fly onwards to Columbia to catch a boat from Cartagena, via the San Blas Islands, to Panama, thus marking the end of our South American adventure! Wow!
The next stage of our world trip: a month of island hopping in Hawaii! What a dream! We did so many hikes in Hawaii, read about them here.
We arrived on the Big Island, hopped across to Maui, and finally to Oahu where we flew onward to New Zealand.
Where are we right now?
We’d originally only planned to be here for 11 weeks but, as of July 2020, its already been 7 months.
We started renting a campervan, but because we love it here so much, we decided to stay for as long as our visa would allow (6 months), so we bought a van for the rest of our time here. For anyone considering how to get around New Zealand, have you read our article about renting vs buying in New Zealand?
Then, a few weeks after buying our van, Covid-19 hit and we were locked down for 8 weeks! As a result, our visa also got a temporary extension to September (from June) and so we had a little extra time to explore, though it would now be winter. See our New Zealand posts to read all about everything we are getting up to in this wonderful country.
Where in our world are we going to next?
Even we don’t really know the answer to this one! Any suggestions? Drop us a comment in the box below….
